It's not about what type of peace you get from nature, but the fact that you have it. Peace is a magical thing; it provides a sense of comfort, happiness, and safety. Nature is known as its own kind of therapy, improving mental and physical health. It allows us a much needed break from the chaos of the man-made environment. And it has always been a dream of mine to live in nature, away from the noise. I will always remember the day I went for a walk in the forest after a rainy day and the way it made me feel. The smell of the rain and the sounds of all the animals just made me feel so at peace. So lets dive further into that feeling of peace from nature.
If you're someone who loves the city and all the hustle and bustle is brings then this blog is probably not for you because I will be talking about the weight of noise and how it affect us. The noise we hear in our everyday lives can be as simple as the notifications we get from our phones or cars driving by on the road. We don't even know it most of the time but it's really affecting our mental and physical. It can increase our stress, disrupt our sleep, and cause hearing damage. And because these happen slowly over time is why we don't really notice it. But let's move on to the more interesting and important topic, natures therapy and how it provides so much peace.

Therapy is a very helpful mechanism for all kinds of struggles that people deal with. However, nobody really likes the social interaction that human therapy brings which is why I will be talking about the benefits nature provides us without having to say a word. Now, there is a difference between nature therapy and being in nature. When it comes to nature therapy there are many common forms such as adventure therapy (rafting or rock climbing), animal assisted therapy (spending time with farm animals or pets outside), dark nature (stargazing), green exercise (running, biking, horseback riding), wilderness (camping or hiking), and so much more! Furthermore, if you are someone who lives in the city, or even if you do live by a forest, it's pretty important to bring nature into your home. Some examples of this would be plants, natural light, opening windows, or even having the color green somewhere in your house; it's said that the color green provides a calming and peaceful environment. These, however, are just a few examples of nature therapy but let me get back to the benefits because there are A LOT. It has been shown that nature therapy reduces blood pressure and lowers heart rate. Moreover, some of the more commonly known benefits are on our immune system, reducing depression and anxiety, and increasing our mood. Nature just overall improves our health, but of course, there a few small risks that come from nature which are bug/animal bites, sunburn, allergies, and poisonous plants, but those are all pretty simple things you can prevent if you pay attention and take good care of yourself. After all of these examples and benefits, I will lastly talk about how I have found peace through nature, what it does for me, and my future dreams with my relationship between nature and I.

I haven't always been a nature girly. I dreamed of living in Chicago when I was younger, living in the bright lights with the big buildings. Chicago will always be a beautiful city to me though, but as I grew up I found out that nature is what is meant for me. I'm not sure why I thought a quiet, introverted girl like me would fit in, in a big city full of people. This is probably why my entire mindset changed as I got older. I came to realize that nature calms me in ways nothing else has before. Everything just adds up so perfectly. The sounds, the smells, the beauty; how could that not bring peace and comfort to anyone? Ever since I figured this out about myself my dreams kept getting bigger and bigger. It started with me just wanting to live in smaller cities and now I want to live in my dream house in the mountains with no neighbors nearby. I believe that this is what is meant for me. I'll be able to do my nature-y hobbies that help me get the peace and comfort I need. These are just things like going for a walk on some trails, sitting on my porch listening to all the animals and filling my lungs with the fresh air, and even having the amazing views of the mountains from my bedroom window.
Overall, nature therapy is huge benefit for everyone whether you're struggling with something or not. Not only is it just sitting outside getting some fresh air, but there are so many activities you can do that I have provided above. Please consider giving them a try, and if you do any of these already then please feel free to share them with me! I hope you enjoyed this blog and leave suggestions for further content!
